Chimes Sofa

The Chimes Sofa takes its name from the 18th-century clockmaker’s shop turned home for which it was originally designed - a place where the passage of time was marked by the steady chime of the hour. Its silhouette reflects the same sense of restraint, with gently scrolled arms, a refined curve to the backrest, and a deep, inviting seat.

Handmade in England using traditional upholstery techniques, the frame is crafted from seasoned hardwood with a sprung seat and back, while hand-stitched horsehair padding lends resilience and longevity. The seat cushions, generously filled with Irish feather and down, rest within a crisp, tailored profile - its quiet elegance heightened by an economy of detail, free from unnecessary ornamentation. Raised on tapered legs with brass castors, the Chimes Sofa sits comfortably in both contemporary and period settings.

To upholster this item, 18 metres of plain fabric is required. To use a print, please contact us with the specifications of your print repeat. A loose cover can also be made at an additional cost.
