Chamber pairs the Acantha Pillar Candle, decorated with acanthus leaf relief, with a traditional pewter chamberstick. Recalling the candleholders once carried to bed at the evening’s end, the broad, shallow dish and loop handle give this everyday ritual a lasting form.
The chamberstick is made for us in lead-free pewter by Cosi Tabellini, a family firm established in 1954 in Brescia, Italy. Its gently reflective surface catches the light of the flame above.
Acantha’s sculptural wax relief draws on the acanthus leaves carved in marble throughout antiquity. Beneath a pointed crown, deeply divided leaves sweep down the pillar, giving the candle the appearance of gathered foliage.
The green, aromatic fragrance combines juniper, cypress and rosemary with a thread of smoke, deepening into woods and moss.
