The Portrait Armchair takes its name from the sculptural sweep of its backrest, recalling the curvilinear crests of 18th-century portrait frames - graceful, undulating, and subtly pronounced. This distinctive silhouette is balanced by generous scroll arms and a deep seat, while its economy of detail – free from superfluous trim or piping - ensures a quiet modernity, feeling considered rather than reproduced.

Handmade in England using traditional upholstery techniques, the frame is constructed from seasoned hardwood with a sprung seat and back, with hand-stitched horsehair padding providing lasting support and resilience.

The seat cushion, generously filled with Irish feather and down, invites ease and repose. Raised on square chamfered legs, the Portrait Armchair is a testament to considered craftsmanship.
